Morphers is an animated (formerly short-form) adventure comedy “TV show” made by 1001 Spears about villages of humans, Morphers. The Morphers are aptly named after their power of creating fusions with each other. The project is infamous for having off-color humor, most notably in Hot Screaming Shower.

Behind the Scenes[]

  • The Morphers characters were based on Deviantart user ZootyCutie‘s Humanized Mixels characters. The names given to the Morphers use the first 1-3 letters of the Mixels’ names (and occasionally more than 3 letters).
  • In 2014, Morphers were originally NPCs in a Pirate Adventure/Finn Army game and would appear in the main three entries (Finn Army: The Movie, Battles, and Storbert’s Undead Ambush, none of which were given the same name at the time). The original Mixels designs would’ve been used by a corrupt corporate executive (based on Mr. O’Hare from The Lorax) to either insult the Morphers or try to turn them to a cash cow franchise. The executive would've used the term "the Zooter, the cuter", a reference to the creator of the Humanized Mixels, ZootieCute. Another one of the Morphers‘ enemies was a “bitchy” woman who acted rude towards Florence. The “bitch” would be defeated after Kristian literally raped her (keep in mind that Brendan was 9 or 10 when he came up with these ideas). It's definitely worth noting that Brendan considers ZootieCutie a very inspiring and talented artist and didn't use these characters to represent her in any way.
  • In July of 2014, there was a planned scene in something Morphers-related that involved Vanessa fighting Zoe and winning, initially leaving the latter to die in a pit of lava (ala Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith). However, Vanessa eventually decides to rescue her sister, and they become reliable friends after this.
  • Around 2014, the Norphers were the Nazi Party, with the predecessor to Major Norpher being “Colonel/General/Major Dietrich”, a reference to Colonel Dietrich from Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Nazis would've tried to burn all of the bibles in the world (Brendan thought that the Nazis were specifically against the bible) and would've also tried to destroy copies of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.
  • A Morphers game based on the original The Legend of Zelda was planned around the summer of 2014, with the plot partially revolving around a one-sided relationship between Sebastian and Zoe.
  • Norpher/Nazi fighters were designed in August of 2014, one of which was a flamethrower soldier. The soldier's mask was inspired by Star Lord's from Guardians of the Galaxy.
  • Around 2015, some of the Morphers characters were planned to also appear in Venture (the Ingrids), Finn Army (the Christians), and Upland (the Ernests). This idea was still around in the summer of 2016, as the Ingrids and some other characters were in the earlier episodes of Venturian Battle.
  • In 2016, concepts of Morphers episodes were created in GoAnimate/Vyond. In December of 2017, something similar was done with a scene from Morpher Moon Madness being made in Plotagon.
  • The series was originally planned to have tie-in LEGO products. These were made in LEGO Digital Designer and/or Stud.io up to the first set of Generation Eight. After this, no more sets were designed as a result of LDD getting corrupted on Brendan's old computer. This is also why the Generation 9 Morphers were designed on Mecabricks instead of LEGO Digital Designer.

Atypical Broadcasts (LMMCU alternate universe only)[]

1001 Spears Day[]

1001 Spears Day was an event that occurred on HBO on December 13, 2018. As the title implies, HBO aired nothing but 1001 Spears programs all day, including the Morphers special "The Mission for the Lost Morphzmo." The event was made to promote the first two episodes of Knights of Asaeveth that aired that day.

This event was later repeated a few times in 2019 in shorter forms (at a length comparable to a network block) but no episodes of Morphers were not broadcast.

1001 Spears Days[]

Adult Swim 1001 Spears Days are events that occurred on the Italian Adult Swim's alternate feed (+1) that started on February 4, 2020, and ended on February 12, 2020, that momentarily had the channel hair nothing but 1001 Spears programs.

The event is similar to the American network's 1001 Spears Day event; however, the Italian block took the schedule for many days. It promoted the first trailer for Venture: Bounty.

All Morphers specials and shorts (including The Morphers Movie) aired during this event.

In October 2021, 1001 Spears Days will rerun in Italy and include Morphers episodes.

Adult Swim 1001 Spears[]

Adult Swim 1001 Spears will be an Australian pop-up channel that was hosted on Foxtel's subscription service in Australia from January 24 to February 7, 2023. As the name implies, it was themed around 1001 Spears programs such as Finn Army, Venturian Battle, Metaninjas, and Morphers.

Adult Swim 1001 Spears will be one of seven pop-up channels that are broadcast by Foxtel's main channel in Australia across Summer 2020 (from November 15, 2022, to February 29, 2023).

Norpher Invasion[]

The Norpher Invasion was a special Morphers event occurring on several Adult Swims worldwide in 2018. This event was not broadcast in the United States. For the event, the Norphers invaded the channel and were aired over bumpers for the channel, and Morphers shorts would occasionally be broadcast. Bumpers and advertisements were created specifically for the event.

The event was initially broadcast in the Nordic region in the first days of June and was aired in the Netherlands on July 25 and 26. The Norpher Invasion was also televised in RSEE countries for a week from July 20 through July 26. It also aired in Central and Eastern European countries at some point in the summer.

  • According to Google Trends, the franchise itself was extremely significant in Eastern Europe, Latin America, and East Asia, as Bulgaria, China, Venezuela, Romania, Poland, and Argentina boast the highest search volumes.
